Pride paraders party down the Pacific Rim Highway en route to a party at Hotel Zed’s during Tofino’s first annual Pride Parade event last year. This year’s parade is set for June 22.

Tofino’s second annual pride parade is set for June 22.

The parade will begin at Beaches Grocery at 3:30 p.m. and party along the Pacific Rim Highway to Hotel Zed where festivities will include live music, a drag show and a 2SLGBTQI+ artisan vendor village.

“All rebels are invited to our march and our free community party to celebrate all kinds of love and all kinds of humans,” said Hotel Zed CEO Mandy Farmer through a media release announcing the event. “Hotel Zed is proud to host Tofino’s second annual Pride celebrations and show our unwavering support for the 2SLGBTQI+ community all year long.”

The hotel hosted a similar event for Tofino’s first pride parade last year and is doubling down this year by adding a drag brunch the following day on June 23 at its ROAR restaurant.

The brunch begins at 11 a.m. and will include performances from Canada’s Drag Race contestants Vivian Vanderpuss and Ilona Verley as well as Victoria-based drag celebrity, Woofie. While parade participation is limitless, anyone interested in attending the following day’s brunch is encouraged to make a reservation as there is limited seating and the hotel expects a crowded afternoon.
