Vancouver police say a 57-year-old man who failed to return to his halfway house last week is back in jail.

Steven Frederickson signed out of his halfway house on Thursday (Feb. 8) and never returned, triggering a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest. Vancouver police described him as a high-risk violent offender and said he is on a long-term supervision order.

Frederickson was found on Saturday in Gastown after passerby reported a suspicious person to police. He was taken into custody and returned to jail.
